Our favorite people

Olivia and Cathryn met in Italian 101 at the University of Kentucky. They spent years speaking broken Italian together. They have the same brain. They have been best friends since Olivia lost her mind over the fact that Cathryn's childhood dog's name was Steve. Cathryn would be lost without her. Olivia is also the very talented sewist behind Cathryn's dress and the bridesmaid dresses.

Ben met Zach in fifth grade. They were in the same first-year class at BASIS Scottsdale. They were both two crazy preteens who matched each other's energy. Zach's house had a pool, which was pretty sick. Ben and Zach have a Snapchat streak that, by wedding day, will be 3,649 days long, which is almost exactly ten years. Zach is one member of Big Boyz, a group of Ben's closest childhood friends.

Yeinye and Cathryn met during orientation at the University of Kentucky. They were part of the same K-Group. They went to a group lunch and ended up staying until everyone else left, laughing at nothing. Yeinye has been a part of Cathryn's chosen family since then. Yeinye has always picked Cathryn up when she's down and has been like an additional brother, even though Cathryn has plenty of them already.

Ben also met Naveen in the same fifth grade class as Zach. Ben and Naveen played basketball together. Once, during their preteen years, Ben went over to Naveen's house where his mom had made chicken wings. Ben raved about them for years, only to later learn that the wings were premade from Costco. Naveen and Ben text each other everyday about random things, thoughts on life, theories, and basketball. Naveen has been a steady presence through Ben's life as they both have navigated adulthood.

Emma and Cathryn met on Bumble BFF in Atlanta. Emma was such a happy addition to Cathryn's life. They had an instant connection and built a beautiful friendship in their mid-twenties. She's Cathryn's favorite concert and latte partner. Emma welcomed Cathryn into her life and her family with open arms. She made Cathryn's time in Atlanta very special.

Tori and Cathryn met in their fellowship program at the University of Kentucky. They were immediate best friends. They found out that Tori grew up down the street from Cathryn's cousins, went to their high school, and that Tori's mom taught Cathryn's cousins in school. They were meant to find each other.

You'll never guess where Ben met Roshan... Fifth grade at BASIS Scottsdale. They used to run through the halls screaming at each other. Together, they were a teacher's worst nightmare. Roshan lived in Gilbert (or maybe Chandler? Who knows), so he brought new and peculiar vibes to the friend group. Ben and Roshan share a reserved nature, but when they are together, they are as loud as can be and are always laughing.

Mallory and Cathryn met in the basement of Fowle Hall at Mercersburg Academy. Cathryn's dad was trying to be sociable during a tornado watch, and that led to Mallory and Cathryn's first conversation. Mallory has been there for almost fifteen years and has seen Cathryn in all states--good and bad. She and her family welcomed Cathryn in as one of their own.

Sachin was not part of the original fifth grade class. In middle school, he and Ben started playing basketball together. A classic point guard/center relationship, not unlike Steve Nash and Amar'e Stoudemire. Some of their best memories together are on the court. Sachin is a silly and goofy guy who never fails to make Ben laugh. Sachin is Cathryn's favorite of the Big Boyz (don't tell the others).

Lauryn and Cathryn met during orientation at the University of Kentucky. They were pushed together because they have the same birthday. They also had the same major at the time, and they spelled their names the same (-ryn)! They lived together for three years of college and shared so many happy memories together. Lauryn has always been the sister Cathryn never had.

If you are flying, we recommend either flying into Charlottesville directly or Richmond. For Charlottesville, American and Delta are the most reliable options. If you fly to Richmond, you'll need to rent a car. It is a little over an hour drive to Charlottesville. We cannot commit to picking anyone up in the days leading up to the wedding. Thank you for understanding.
