We went on our first date and spent approximately five hours at a frozen yogurt shop in Phoenix talking.

Ben met the most important man in Cathryn's life, her childhood dog, Steve.

We started doing long distance from Atlanta to Kentucky for Cathryn's senior year at UK and Ben's year at Georgia Tech.

Cathryn spent her first Christmas with Ben's family in Phoenix and Tucson.

We moved in together sooner than expected because of the pandemic. Cathryn moved into Ben's graduate school housing in Atlanta, and they adopted some Trader Joe's seedlings that have since passed away.

Cathryn graduated from the University of Kentucky (kind of) and officially moved all her things from Lexington to our new apartment in Atlanta.

We brought home Chester!

Chester was our first baby and he brightened our COVID lockdown by being our instant soulmate. We stopped taking a lot of pictures together around this time because of the pandemic. Most of our camera rolls became our pets.

We celebrated our first Christmas in our very own apartment with our first baby.

We finally got to go back to Suns games after the pandemic eased up.

We brought home our little old man, Atticus. He and Chester are soulmates.

We hosted our first Thanksgiving with Cathryn's family. Even her dad came. We were all shocked.

We spent Christmas with Cathryn's brother and future sister-in-law. Ben was too large for the picture at the Atlanta ferris wheel.

Ben's brothers visited our apartment in Atlanta for Thanksgiving. This was the second one we hosted.

We celebrated Ben's 26th birthday. And Ben grew a beard.

We boarded the plane to go house hunting in Virginia! And Ben shaved his beard.

We left Atlanta for Virginia and moved into our first house together. Cathryn started her PhD program that year.

We brought home our doggy, Bartleby.

We hosted our first Thanksgiving in our new home. Lots of cooking, lots of friends.

Ben proposed at home. We were surrounded by our boys. The ring is an emerald, which is Cathryn's birth stone. We got to celebrate with a nice dinner.

We got to travel abroad together for the first time! Cathryn presented her research at a conference in Italy, and Ben tagged along for the ride.
